With Plans to Recast Futurama, Fox Infuriates Fanboys Everywhere
But seriously—why in the hell would you go and do that, Fox? It's like the time Vince McMahon tried to pawn off a fake Razor Ramon and Diesel on us. Or the time the Fresh Prince's Aunt Viv inexplicably became four shades lighter over the course of a season (Vitiligo?). Or maybe more relevant, the time Cartoon Network aired all those new episodes of Dragonball Z, and Goku sounded like he was severely constipated. The point is this: if you're bringing the show back for the rabid, already-established

Dragonball DS And Dragonball Wii Art Look, Um, Different
A new year brings one thing: More Dragon Ball. You know what that means? More Bulma. The Xbox 360 and the PS3 are getting a Dragon Ball Z title called Raging Blast that appears to be a sequel to Dragon Ball Z Sparking! The Nintendo Wii is getting a Dragonball action game, which doesn't appear to have a subtitle. It does have Bulma character art that seems different from how see appeared in last fall's Dragonball DS (Dragonball Origins in the West). See comparison. AH HA! She has a name tag on the

Review: Dragonball: Evolution
Dragonball: Evolution is based on a manga series (that's Japanese for "comic book") that was also turned into an anime series (that's Japanese for "cartoon") and is now a movie that was not screened for critics before it opened (that's Hollywood for "we're not very proud of it"). I doubt it's what fans of the story have been hoping for all these years, as they've endured one delay after another in getting a live-action version to the screen, but it's not aggressively bad. It's more like a dumb, energetic

'Dragonball Evolution'
"Dragonball Evolution" is the movie equivalent of deep-fried sushi, an adaptation of a hugely popular Japanese manga epic that methodically removes every distinctive element from the series in an attempt to appeal to 8-year-old boys in need of a respite from "SpongeBob SquarePants." Naturally, this mandate of blandness has already alienated every hard-core fan of a franchise that has spawned video games, TV series and anime features. Who's left to care? The final product sits strangely perched between its repeated visions of a "blood apocalypse" and a geeky teen romance straight out of "iCarly." And even the teen part is a stretch, since both the leads are 26. Those leads, Goku (Justin Chatwin) and Chi Chi (Jamie Chung), are in a serious pickle, caught between raging hormones and an evil warlord intent on destroying the Earth. Because the green-skinned Lord Piccolo (James Marsters) looks like a cross between Count Chocula and Jim Carrey's "Mask" character, people have a hard time taking the guy seriously, which is perhaps the reason he dispatches his suede-and-spandex minion (Eriko Tamura) to do most of his dirty work.
